Pictures of Australia. Pt. 2
To finish off my photos of Australia (see, there weren’t that many) here is the last instalment I took during the Christmas period.

Every Christmas the street where my parents live transforms into a magical lighting display draining the city of Perth of most of its electricity reserves. The whole street lights up, much like Chevy Chases house in the National Lampoons Christmas movie, and people flock to see attraction. In fact so many people show up large tour buses come every night dropping hundreds of people off. As you can imagine, driving home anytime between 8pm and midnight is almost impossible, (I actually shouting matches with a sightseer in their car because they had stopped in the middle of the road and only left after I insisted I lived there) so I avoided any driving during these time near my place.

Avocado, smoked salmon, and prawns. Now that’s an entrée!

Next is a series of photos I took while I was in Mandurah, about an hour’s drive south of Perth. I’ve always enjoyed going to Mandurah to go fishing, but much like Mindarie (see previous photo page) it took is rapidly being transformed into a bit of a hotel resort area filled with tourists (was I a tourist?). Still, absolutely stunning sunset.

New Years Eve dinner. Roast lamb, veges, and pavlova (let it be known, I hate pavlova).

On New Years Day, to celebrate that and my father’s birthday, we went to a nice restaurant just south of Perth. The name slips my mind for the moment, but I was assure that it once used to be a mental asylum many decades ago. With views like this, how could anyone by psychotic?
And that’s my Aussie photos.
