Moving into my new room. Having a good day.
Yesterday morning, to my complete surprise, I heard some banging coming from Jay’s old room. I wasn’t sure what all the noise was for, so I got up and took a quick look. There was my director’s boss’s brother, with an air conditioner install guy installing a unit in Jay’s room. The day before I had gone down to see my boss in regards to getting an air conditioner installed in Jay’s room so I could move from my current room (which does have one). It was part of my condition to stay here another year, but I wasn’t 100% certain my director would keep his word.
The conversation basically went along the lines of that he wanted to buy one large unit to be installed in the hallway so we could all share. This of course is no good seeing as we all close our doors at night. My director suggested that we keep our doors open, but I told him that not only myself, but Aaron and my girlfriend could have a small problem with that. Heh.
Anyway, to my amazement, he not only kept his word but he did so in a speedy manner that makes me feel somewhat ashamed that I though he wouldn’t. This is merely another reminder as to why I work for the guy, he really does take care of us here at the academy.
So last night we started moving stuff out of my room and into Jay’s old room. It’s much bigger and more importantly it has a nice, new, queen sized bed. Much more comfortable then my single (and relatively new) bed.
I didn’t expect to get much moved, but by the end of the night about a third of all my belonging had been shifted over. We then spent the night in a our new with the air conditioner on slightly to make it pleasant.
I didn’t sleep well, it’ll take me several days to adjust to a large bed again (I had a nice queen size in Australia that I miss so badly) and then I’ll have no problems.
This morning we shifted the last of the furnishings in, mainly the computer table and the huge mess on top of it (which has consequently been tidied and mainly trashed). My old room was a tip when I had to go to work, but amazingly my girlfriend spent the whole day shifting the rest of my stuff and sorting out for me and putting it away in my new room. When I came up, everything was finished. Even my family photos had been moved and placed on my new walls.
You see, this is why I love this girl.
Anyway, my room feels twice as big now and it’s great having so much room. I think I’ll be very, very happy here. I also have a nice double window now which will be great to open on those balmy summer nights.
Oh, and some other news. I was able to get a refund on my girlfriend’s airline ticket to Canada. There’s a $50 penalty, but that’s nothing compared to the $1000US dollars (at least) I’ll be getting back. Phew. Doesn’t quite make me as happy as I’d like, but at least that’s money I can spend on something else for us.
See, you have a bad day, and then things work out alright the next. You just got to have faith.

What faith do you tun to?
I’ve had a bad year. I lost my father and my job (as an indirect result of losing my father.) My faith in Jesus has been slowly tested. But, I’ve never wavered. He is my saviour. How about you? How do you keep the faith?

You have a flaw in your comment system. I wrote a comment, but put in my URI in the e-mail box by mistake. When I corrected my mistake and try to publish my comment, I got an error message saying I had already said that. Sorry to be a pedant. Hope this helps make your site even better.

Xerraire: I keep my faith to myself. Its just one of those things I don’t like to share because I feel its personal and between me and my God. Every is entitled to their own opinion and how they wish to express it. When times get tough though, faith is all we have to fall on.
The comment system is working fine. I received all your comments without any problems.
