Dodgy t-shirts and fixing the toilet; The Week Review.
So the weekend is upon us and I’ll be spending it back in my first Korean ‘home’, Andong. I’ve only been back to Andong once since I came back about 5 or 6 weeks ago, although I had planned a few weeks ago to make the trip but didn’t. It’ll be nice to catch up with some familiar faces again, though of course I won’t be catching up with everyone who, at some stage or another, I had promised to. That will take some time.
And of course I’ll meet up with my girlfriend who would usually be coming back to Daegu this afternoon, but will instead spend the night in Andong since I’m coming tomorrow. I’m not sure why, but I’ve missed her more then ever this week, so I’ll be so happy to see her again. Even the fish and turtles (who appear to have been taking some growth hormones lately) appear a little lacklustre.
So that’s my plan this weekend, what else has been happening this week in the blog world?
Joe seems to have had a tough week, but of course it only takes one good thing to happen for it to change around. When a student offers you some feedback of how well they’re going with their English, either in school or at work, the feeling of satisfaction is immense.
You may recall a week or so ago I had a little rant about Korean people, well Aaron has taken it a little further and ordered some, perhaps a little offensive, t-shirts from a local foreign t-shirt company. I had thought about some of these shorts before, but the repercussions from wearing there were enough to make me not. I hope Aaron has a good washing detergent, no doubt a lot of kimchi is going to be flying in his direction soon.
I like to be DIY man, but the truth is I suck badly at it. At least I can always call Frugal Bastard (aka as the Lord of the Ants) should I ever need someone to fix my toilet. Why anyone would renovate their own bathroom is beyond me. The stress of making my own bed is enough for me.
I’m also in having great pleasure in viewing the Chosun Bimbo again (after reformatting my computer and reinstalling everything) which has now become IE browser friendly. Although I’m not so happy in reading his essays, which I’m sure are a very good, but put me to sleep almost as quickly as my 3rd grade reading to me. If you want to offer his some help with his essay, I’m sure he’d appreciate it.
And lastly, James finishes his little bit on the perception of Women in Korea (what’s to perceive, they’re gorgeous, cute, shallow, maturely challenged). As far as I’m concerned, the South girls have nothing on their Northern counterparts. Daddy-likey!

And that’s the week and weekend in review. What are you doing this weekend?

I’ve worn a couple of shirts to school and the students loved them. Haven’t worn any outside school as I’m waiting to catch up with you and Em tomorrow….safety in numbers!
