Cold weather and a green pitch.
Nice, Friday again.
Can I just say, and I know this has been repeated in almost every Korean blog out there, how freaking cold its become! There’s word of snow in most parts of Korea, but as of yet, nothing here in Daegu. The temperature has been falling to below freezing point most nights here and the days are dark, cold, and windy.
My morning walks consist of me wearing my thermals, both bottoms and tops, two t-shirts, a hoodie, and my thick coat, with jeans too. For the most part I’m warm, but that first 15 minutes is damn cold. The sad thing is, its only going to get colder.
Next, the cricket. Both Aaron and Stafford have been praising the efforts of the New Zealand cricket team bowling Australia out for less then 250 on a green, swinging, first day Gabba pitch. Sure, it was a great effort by the kiwi bowlers, and they used the conditions perfectly and I take my hat off to them. However, its only day 1 and there’s plenty left on offer.
And I should point out that New Zealand are 4/108 at lunch on the second day on a much easier pitch. And lets be honest, when has the New Zealand cricket team ever produced 5 consecutive days of good cricket? Should be a good one to follow.
The weekend holds nothing out of the ordinary for me. Normal food shopping, a trip to Costco, and some additional work all needs to be done.
But for now, its about getting through today.
