Presentations and a birthday rabbit.
Friday is upon us again, but this will not be the last day of the working week for me. Tomorrow we have students presentations at EXCO, Daegu convention centre. The last one was in late October, when John first joined us, so its been a while since we did them. It’s also the first time for Kris and Miranda to give presentations, too. I think Kris had done some in his previous place of work, but for Miranda it’s a new experience.
I, personally, don’t mind hosting presentations and, like every other time, I will only be doing one half of the day, unlike John who has two halves to complete. While I may get a tad nervous for the first 10 or so minutes, I quickly settle down and enjoy the rest of the presentations.
Em has also decided to go so we can leave the presentations and have dinner downtown together. There is a company dinner afterwards with all three branches of the hagwon, but seeing as it’s always at a 샴겹살 (bacon) restaurant, the menu is limited to 비빔밥 (rice, vegetables, and chili sauce) and 물냉면 (iced water noodles), neither of which I would waste 3 hours sitting on the floor with.
I don’t really have a great deal in common with any of the other foreign teachers at the other hagwons (you’d swear they were a librarian group) and while I’m sure they are all very fine people, I’d rather spend a Saturday night with my girlfriend at a nice Indian or Mongolian restaurant downtown.
On a side note its Millie birthday (our rabbit). As you can see from below, she did quite well with her presents including; hay from Australia, a couple of blocks of alfalfa hay, two bags of quality food rabbit food pellets, and a carrot shaped salt lick stone. That’s more than I bought myself for presents last year!
And a little video of the birthday girl;

Happy birthday darling.
Aside from the presentations, the weekend is looking rather empty again. A good time for a little spring cleaning I think.
