Former Korean President Roh Moo Hyun dead.
I apologize to the rest of the blogging world, but I will not be morning the death of former Korean President Roh Moo Hyun. As a person who got elected based on clean politics and to fight corruption within the Korean government, he turned out to be nothing more than a common thief, a fraud. I’m not going to say whether or not he did a good job as President, a job I’m sure isn’t the easiest on the planet, but the truth is, that no one can deny, is that he stole money from the people has was employed to, denied any wrong doing, and then killed himself so he could avoid the humiliation of paying for the crimes he says he didn’t commit.
In other words, in my opinion at least, he’s a coward.
The killing of one self, despite the circumstances is always terrible to hear, and believe me when I say I get no satisfaction or pleasure hearing about President Roh’s suicide. It is a terrible thing that one can get to the point where they feel they must end their life, but Roh has no one but himself to blame for the hole he dug himself in.
If he chose to jump off that cliff, well, that’s his choice, as sad as that is.
No doubt the North Korean government is absolutely thriving off the propaganda opportunities of yet another South Korean president losing face in front of not only it’s own people, but on the world stage.
Lastly, his family no have to face any criminal charges without Roh. He left them to defend themselves. Being a lawyer for the justice of human rights, I wonder if his family will live up to that legacy and stand in front of us all, and get the justice they deserve?
PS – Sorry Stafford, we’ll have to agree to disagree on this one.
