A busy weekend marking papers. A snap of a sleeping turtle.
A rather quiet weekend for me with only a few things planned. For the most part I spent my weekend grading university papers, the last lot, before I finish them for this semester. I’ll be happy to get them out the way and get my mornings back again. Not sure if I’ll be doing any more, but at any rate, I’ll lat least get a couple of weeks break from them.
I was also a guest member on the Seoul Podcast as they were doing a show on North Korea. You can read more about that in my next post.
On Friday night Em and I headed out to the university area for a quick dinner of toast and chicken on a stick, enjoying those in a DVD room.
That sums my weekend up. Em, on the other hand, had a slightly more interesting weekend as her and Miranda, my co-worker, got their nails done at a nail place near the university. The results can be see below.

And, for all those who have been asking, Em’s engagement ring. She’s loves it to bits, but I should mention that we’ll be getting a proper ring (one more suitable for my girl) when we either get back to Australia or Beijing. Neither of us fancy buying a diamond ring from Korea.

I also caught one of our turtles, BeiBei, fast asleep on his rock. When I first got the turtles they were the size of a 50 cent coin, now they’re almost bigger than my hand! I don’t talk about the turtles much (there’s JingJing, too) and for the most part they’re the easiest pets to look after (ok, Em looks after them). We’ll be letting them go before we leave to Beijing, and probably before winter comes. We’re looking to either release them in the wild in a habitat they can live, or find someone else to look after them correctly. Either way, it’ll be a very sad day for both Em and I.
And that was my weekend. How was yours?
