Surprising the boyfriend with a delicious meal.
Em’s recently been getting into the TV drama Gossip Girl, one of the bitchiest TV shows that I’ve ever seen. While I’ve never followed it before, I can’t help but find myself watching it whenever Em is, no doubt a testament to the crap that’s on Korean TV for the majority of the time.
One thing I’ve been a little worried about is Em picking up what she may interpret as ‘western culture’. Gossip Girl is certainly not the barometer in which we measure acceptable behaviour, and I try to explain it clearly to Em that she shouldn’t start trying to be like any of the character, especially Blair. She should decide to change on me, I warned her that I would switch my personality over to Blair’s male counterpart, Chuck.
I guess that must have done the trick for when I came home last night I was greeted to a huge meal that had been prepared for us. Em will never admit it, but her cooking skills are improving at an impressive rate. Seeing as she could hardly boil an egg 3 years ago, she can now make some very delicious meals.
So, as you’ll see below, I have no worries that my sweet girlfriend will change into the manipulative bitch that Blair Waldorf is. *phew*

A nice bottle of non-alcoholic sparkling fruit wine.

Julienned potato, Chinese style.

One of my favourites, tomato and egg, again with a Chinese twist.

Bok-choi with fried baby shrimp.

Sweet chicken, mushroom, and egg soup.

So, as you can see, I’m quite the lucky boy. It was a great meal not only for the delicious food, but the surprise I got when I came home and saw it.
